To search out and obtain definitive proof of the existence of life beyond the grave and other paranormal activity.

Things that go "bump in the night" are more prevalent than you might think - ask around, and you will notice that almost everyone has a story to share of strange photographs, unaccountable noises, otherworldy visions, and much more. The purpose of the NJGHS is to research these events in a scientific manner, in the hopes of capturing definitive proof that there is much more to our world than this "ordinary" reality we operate in. We have been on investigations in cemetaries, historic sites, private homes, college dorms, and more. If you suspect your own residence to be haunted, let us visit your home on our next investigation! Contact us here for more information.

The NJGHS was the result of L'Aura & Jeff attending the first ever Gettysburg Ghost Conference by the IGHS in March 1998. By that July, the website, designed then by the co-founder of the IGHS, Dave Oester, was uploaded. September 1998 was the first "open house" meeting of the newly formed NJGHS. By March 2000, the NJGHS had the single largest group attendance at the IGHS 2000 Gettysburg Ghost Conference. Amazing, considering just two years prior L'Aura & Jeff were the only 2 attendees from New Jersey!

Today, membership continues to grow via online memberships of the website and in-state memberships at the monthly meetings. The NJGHS is a non-profit organization committed to teaching those interested in how to conduct paranormal investigations and helping those in need of such investigations. As the official state rep to the International Ghost Hunters Society, we adhere to their investigative protocols.

Our approach is one of professionalism and science. We do NOT employ psychics for our research. While we do not condone nor condemn psychics and mediums in the line of paranormal study, we strive for the proof via 35mm and digital film, video and audio recordings.

L'Aura Hladik, Co-founder

L'Aura experienced her first encounter with the paranormal when she was 14 years old. Over the years, she has studied the metaphysical arts as well as developed her skills as a paranormal investigator. She has been officially ghost hunting since 1993.

L'Aura has made slide show presentations for the NJGHS for the past 3 years to various civic and religious groups throughout New Jersey. She has appeared on "Family Talk" with Mary Amoroso on CN8, Telemundo's version of "Entertainment Tonight" and NEWS 12 NJ, as well as radio's Jim Gerhart's morning show on 101.5 FM, and 1250 AM WMTR's Jesse Freese's show. Most recently, L'Aura appeared in articles in the Daily Record (a Morris County paper) that covered the investigation of a haunted house in Vernon, NJ as well as the Middlesex County based Home News Tribune. The recently released "Everything Ghost Book", by Jason Rich, has a section on the NJ Ghost Hunters Society as a result of an interview L'Aura conducted with the author in the summer of 2000.

She is an Inner Circle Award Member of the International Ghost Hunters Society as well as a member of the American Society for Psychical Research and the Cosmic Society of Paranormal Investigators.

When not doing paranormal work, her "normal" life consists of working full time as a Marketing Assistant and raising two wonderful sons. She currently lives in Elizabeth with her guy, Rob, and his dog "Bart".

Jeff Muller, Co-founder

Jeff began his interest in the paranormal at an early age via cult horror and SciFi classics such as "House on Haunted Hill", "Carnival of Souls" and "Queen From Outer Space," and it grew, along with his knowledge on the subject, through years of reading and researching paranormal books and materials. His role as a paranormal investigator began after attending a ghost tour conducted at the Spy House in Port Monmouth, NJ back in 1992, after which he and L'Aura began working with a noted paranormal expert preceding their founding of the NJGHS. He officially began ghost hunting with his first case in 1993.

Jeff has appeared on "Family Talk", a CN8 program, as well as WMTR radio with Jesse Freese and 101.5 FM radio via "Ghost Jersey" stories by David Allen Stein in October of 2000. He has also been seen with Mary Amoroso on CN8, Telemundo's version of "Entertainment Tonight." He is a member of the Inner Circle of the IGHS and The American Society for Psychical Research.

When not conducting paranormal investigations, Jeff is busy working full time as a communications and electronics technician and raising his two wonderful sons. His lovely fiancee Galina is from Bulgaria, and will soon be an official member of the NJGHS. He currently resides in Westfield with the kids and possibly a ghost!

Rob Levy

Rob Levy joined the NJGHS in September 2000. Since that time he has captured ghostly anomalies on digital film via cemetery investigations and the Vernon, NJ investigation covered by the Daily Record. He attended the DelMarVa Ghost Conference in October 2001 and is set to stay in the haunted room at the Cashtown Inn in Gettysburg, PA in May of 2002. Rob's interest in the paranormal is a result of his "day job" of procurements and sales of antiques. Over the years he has come across some objects that were "more than he bargained for". See his antiques at Atlantis Antiques.
