| Ghost World Conference Presenters - 2007 |
Your Host for Saturday's Conference Events:
Mark Nesbitt is Mr. Ghosts of Gettysburg. He was born in Lorain, Ohio, and graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College with a BA in English Literature. He worked for the National Park Service as a Ranger/Historian for five years and then became a Licensed Battlefield Guide. During his tenure with the National Park Service, he had the opportunity to spend time in nearly every historic house on the Park and actually lived in four of the historic homes. Living in Gettysburg since 1971 has given him a unique insider perspective from which to write his many books on the history and hauntings there. Nesbitt published the first book in the popular Ghosts of Gettysburg series in 1991. The Ghosts of Gettysburg Series received the National Paranormal Award for "Best True Hauntings Collection" and "Best 'Local Haunt' Guidebook." The Ghosts of Gettysburg stories have been seen, and/or heard, on The History Channel, A&E, The Discovery Channel, The Travel Channel, Unsolved Mysteries, and Coast to Coast AM.

Just what is Weird US and who the heck are these Marks anyway? It all started a long, long time ago in a land called New Jersey. What began as a homespun newsletter called Weird NJ created just for their friends, has blossomed into two weird careers that include a slew of extremely popular books including Weird U.S. and Weird Hauntings and a television series on the History Channel called Weird U.S. So how do Mark and Mark decipher the fact from the fiction? How do they separate the history from the mystery? They don’t. What they do is listen to what people tell them is weird about their own hometown. They collect these stories and try, wherever possible, to corroborate these seemingly fantastic tales with actual events and historical data.
Come hear Mark and Mark discuss their strange travels and the spooky settings they’ve encountered along the way.
