Protocols for Investigating - Lesson Five
Safety First!Never investigate alone. Always be in teams of at least two people. Have your cell phone with you, but turn it off during the investigation. You can use two-way radios, but again you run the risk of having one go off just as an EVP is being recorded.
If you’re doing a cemetery hunt and have acquired the necessary permission, it’s best to get a lay of the land. Go there in the daylight to scope the place out. Take note of any fallen headstones or gopher holes, etc. Make sure you know where the exits are in case you do need to leave abruptly.
Take into consideration the area the cemetery is in as well. If the area has a reputation for being infested with drunken or drugged up teens and societal misfits, don’t go there to investigate. The living are much more hazardous to your health than the dead are.
